Hundreds of people gathered in London, the capital of England, to protest against the government’s policy on the National Health System (NHS).
Activists marching towards Downing Street, where the prime minister’s office, “number 10” is located, supported the striking NHS workers.
Demonstrating “We are the NHS” while demanding the government raise the salaries of healthcare workers, they unfurled banners reading “Strike for the NHS.”
At demonstrations, the government called for fair pay for nurses.
Yesterday, hundreds of nurses in England decided to go on strike for 48 hours.
RCN nurses have quit 55 hospitals after the government failed to provide the wage increases they demanded.
