China resumes regular flights with 58 countriesChina has resumed scheduled flights to 58 countries over the past week after lifting some restrictions on international passenger flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic from January 8, 2023.During the week from 6 to 12 February, about 98 domestic and foreign airlines performed 795 flights. Shang Keija, a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Administration of China, explained at a press conference that the figure corresponds to a 65 percent increase compared to flights during the week of January 2 to 8.

The number of countries departing and departing from China and the number of airlines operating these flights reached 64% and 80% respectively of the same period in 2019.

On the other hand, Shang said that the air travel market is in a rapid downturn, and the number of flights could reach or even exceed pre-epidemic levels in a short time. The same official also said that he foresees a further increase in the number of international flights in line with the demand for foreign trade, tourism and education.
